The statistics on sexual assault statistics are shocking One in every six women becomes a victim of sexual abuse during their lifetime. At least one in four college women suffer some form of sexual assault. 250,000 cases of sexual assault were reported in 2007 meaning that a woman was assaulted every 2 1/2 minutes. Sadly, for every reported case many more go unreported. The impact of sexual assault extends far beyond the physical attack Victims are emotionally and mentally scarred for life. They are three times more likely to suffer depression, six times more likely to suffer post traumatic stress syndrome and four times more likely to consider suicide as a way of escape.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
