Gospel Music - Michael English - Cup of Sorrow

I want to drink from Your cup of sorrow
I want to bathe in Your holy blood
I want to sleep with the promise of tomorrow
I know tomorrow may never come

Gospel Music - Gaithers - Michael English - Winds of the World

Nearly five years ago, when Bill Gaither created an all-star version of the Gaither Vocal Band, the returning GVB members were managing solo careers and added the Gaither Vocal Band’s tour dates, video tapings and recordings to their existing schedules. Now, after trying to manage both solo careers and Gaither Vocal Band responsibilities, Mark Lowry and Michael English are ready for a new season of life that is not so demanding.

Christian Music - Bill Gaither - Worthy the Lamb

Hear the cries of the shackled from the onset of time,
For the chains of defeat there's no key.
See the tears of the broken, the cries of the slaves:
Is there no one worthy to set us free?

Then the crying is stilled as the chorus rings out,
The shackled released from their chains.
And thousands of voices are swelling the song:
Worthy the Lamb that was slain.

Worthy, worthy,
Worthy the Lamb that was slain

Then all the archangels, the saints of all time,
Holding their crowns in their hands,
Fall down before Him joining the song:
Worthy, worthy the Lamb!

Worthy, worthy,
Worthy the Lamb that was slain (x2)

Praise Him, praise Him,
Praise the Lamb that was slain

Christian Music - Michael English - The Old Rugged Cross Made the Difference

'Twas a life filled with aimless desperation
Without hope walked the shell of a man;
Then a hand with a nailprint stretched downward,
Just one touch then a new life began.

And the old rugged cross made the difference
In a life bound for heartache and defeat;
I will praise Him forever and ever
For the cross made the difference for me.

Barren walls echoed harshness and anger
Little feet run in terror to hide;
Now those walls ring with love, warmth and laughter,
Since the giver of life moved inside.

Christian Music - Michael English - Please Forgive Me

"When I reflect on this past year (March 2010), I know there are so many things I’m so grateful for. Too many things to even count, my family, my being a part of the Gaither Vocal Band, my wife, daughters and granddaughter. I do, however have one particular incident I can say I’m especially thankful for. Almost exactly one year ago I found out I needed surgery on my neck. I knew the risks going in, and one was that my vocal chords could possibly be damaged during the operation.

Due to the skill of the surgeon, the procedure was a success. However, as predicted, my vocal chords did experience some damage. Whether or not the damage was permanent had yet to be determined. According to the experts, if the vocal chords hadn’t recovered by a certain time, the damage would have been permanent. My voice did not recover by the given time and I began to wonder if I needed to find a new line of work. But we serve a tremendous God who doesn’t have to confine His mercy to expert opinion.

My voice not only eventually recovered, but it is stronger than before to do solo concerts again. When people say we serve an awesome God, I can say this past year I experienced His incredible mercy and grace once again in my life and for that I am truly grateful."

Christian Music - Gaithers - Michael English - Please Forgive Me

“Here's to the strong; thanks to the brave.
Don't give up hope: some people change.
Against all odds, against the grain,
Love finds a way: some people change.
Thank God for those who make it:
Let them be the Light.” – Some People Change

Christian Music - Michael English - Please Forgive Me

My sleep is gone, my heart is full of sorrow
I can't believe how much I've let you down
I dread the pain that waits for me tomorrow
When the sun reveals my broken dreams scattered on the ground.
Please forgive me. I need your grace to make it through
All I have is you. I'm at your mercy
Lord, I will serve you, until my dying day
And help others find the way at your mercy
Please forgive me.

Christian Music - Michael English - Give Up

Give up, let Jesus take over
Oh, give up, let Jesus take over, oh yeah
And He'll make a way for you

Well, if you've got mountains that you can't climb
Oh, and if you've got rivers that you can't cross
And if you've got valleys that you can't span
Let Jesus, let Jesus take a hold of your hand

Now if you got burdens too hard to bear
Oh, and if you load is more than your share
Kneel, kneel down, talk to Jesus because I, I know and I know He cares
And He'll, He'll make a way, make a way for us somehow

Sing it together, sing it, let Jesus take over
Oh, give up and let Jesus take over
Oh, give it up and let Jesus take over
And He'll make a way, say He'll make a way
He'll make a way for you

Christian Music - Michael English - These Are They

7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace 8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, 9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.
Ephesians 1:7-10 (NKJV)

Christian Music - Michael English - Cup of Sorrow

3 He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53:3-5 (NKJV)

Christian Music - Michael English - Go Rest High

I know your life On earth was troubled
And only you could know the pain
You weren't afraid to face the devil
You were no stranger to the rain

Go rest high on that mountain
Son, your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a shoutin
Love for the father and son

Oh, how we cried the day you left us
We gathered round your grave to grieve
Wish I could see the angels faces
When they hear your sweet voice sing

Go rest high on that mountain
Son, you work on earth is done
Go to heaven a shoutin
Love for the father and son
