Testimonies - I Am Second - Annie Lobert

2 Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them.
3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst,
4 they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act.
5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?”
6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.
7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”
8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground.
9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”
11 She said, “No one, Lord.”
And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
John 8:2-11 (NKJV)

I Am Second - Forgiveness - An Innocent Man and A Crooked Cop

A true story of racial reconciliation and radical forgiveness. A crooked cop, an innocent man, and an unlikely journey of forgiveness and friendship. Racial tensions had long simmered in Benton Harbor, a small city on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, before the day a white narcotics officer, more focused on arrests than justice, set his sights on an innocent black man. But when Officer Andrew Collins framed Jameel McGee for possession of crack cocaine, the surprising result was not a race riot, but a transformative journey for both men.

Testimonies - I Am Second - Clayton Kershaw

He's the youngest to win a Cy Young Award since 1985. He's been compared to Sandy Koufax, the great Los Angeles Dodgers Hall of Famer. He had the most strikeouts, the best Earned Run Average, and won the most games of any pitcher in the league. On the mound he is the epitome of discipline, accuracy and control.

Yet Clayton's journey to success in baseball has included many personal moments way out of his control. Family issues, finances, sports teams, and more. All beyond his control. Still, this young man has already learned valuable lessons on how to manage a high stress environment. Here he shares wisdom beyond his years and a passion for the needs of others that only God can impart.

Personal Testimony - I Am Second - Ben King

Professional cyclist and Tour de France rider, Ben King, beat his body into submission. Four-a-day trainings, top level races, and a diet mastered to the cellular level. But there was a price to pay for winning multiple national championships and gaining a prestigious spot on the Dimension Data professional cycling team. For Ben, the price was his emotional and spiritual health. He found himself spitting blood into the sink, the byproduct of an eating disorder that’d spun out of control. Obsessed with climbing the ranks in the cycling world, he sacrificed all to master his body. Control was all he wanted, but it was the one thing he’d lost.

Personal Testimony - I Am Second - Esther Fleece

“You design your life to look a certain way, and then, your worst nightmare happens.”

From the outside, Esther’s life looks ideal. She has enjoyed a more than decade-long successful career writing and speaking about faith and family issues. Yet, in the midst of success, she hid the deep, dark pain of her past.

She put on a plastic face.

Twenty years passed before Esther’s past caught up with her. In 2010, while speaking at a conference in California, she learned her biological father was at her home, actively stalking her. With fear taking over, all of her coping mechanisms came crashing down in an instant.

Testimonies - I Am Second - The Parks

Infidelity. Unhappiness. Discontent. It wasn't meant to be like this. The vows spoken at the altar of unconditional love --no matter how good or bad life gets-- seemed to be forgotten. To Katie and Nathan, they no longer seemed to matter. "We were just driving each other apart, into someone else's arms."

Testimonies of God's Grace - I Am Second - Nate Larkin

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NKJV)

Testimonies - I Am Second - David McKenna

From happy childhood, to party animal, drug user, drug dealer, convicted felon, and drug addict, David McKenna's road was a fast track to the pit of hell. "To me, cocaine is the devil, " he says from experience. "I really think it's truly one of the most scary things in the world." There were many times that the craving, compulsion for drugs and alcohol became the God of his life.

Released from jail and working through a rehab program, David was introduced to the real God, the God of the hearts of men. He became part of a strong local church that ministered to him. But is that enough to help him avoid the cravings that would come on him during the day? How does he approach managing a life that when left alone can jump back into the hell-pit without a second glance?

Christ must be first in his life for David to even exist. The consequences of not following Him are devastating. Nothing else matters in his life. He story seems to say "Be encouraged, you need not stay in the hell-pit of life." Christ has better things ahead for you.

Testimonies - I Am Second - Rod Bayron

“Physical abuse… that’s the way I grew up.” Imagine rationalizing something as unexplainable and indecent as physical or even emotional abuse at a young age. Perhaps you don’t have to imagine; perhaps it’s as simple as remembering a moment in your own life. Though Rod Bayron promised himself he’d never be like those who hurt him, he fell into abuse himself.
