Prison Ministry - Michigan Prison Ministries - Alpha Prison Ministries

An exciting reality for Alpha Prison Ministries is that just because someone is living behind bars, does not mean they are not free. It is not uncommon to find those in prison who are more free than many who live outside in what we call society. You can see it in their eyes; there is light, life, and the freedom that only God himself can produce.

Rather than being hopeless prison situations, God has demonstrated that his power is made perfect in weakness.

Prison Ministry - Chuck Colson Remembered

Charles "Chuck" Wendell Colson (1931 - 2012) was an Evangelical Christian leader who founded Prison Fellowship and BreakPoint. Prior to his conversion to Christianity, he served as Special Counsel to President Richard Nixon from 1969 to 1973.

Christian Broadcasting Network founder Dr. Pat Robertson said he was saddened at the passing of his dear friend Chuck Colson.

In a statement, Robertson said, "For years Chuck has been a hero of the Christian faith, not only in theological understanding, but in the working out of the love of Jesus Christ to hundreds of thousands of prisoners throughout our nation. All of us who knew him will deeply mourn his passing, and extend our love and prayers to his dear wife, Patty.”

Pastor Tim - Prison Ministry - Cascade United Methodist Church

“God spent a lot of time talking to my heart. And then I learned how to pray. And then I started focusing on what I wanted to do to not come back and be in the same place...The ladies started communicating with me while I was still incarcerated. Wrote me and I wrote back to them. When I had my release date, the ladies were there to pick me up at the bus stop. They helped me get into a halfway house. And that’s where everything really started working from there. For me living in the halfway house, I attended church here every Sunday, and Bible study. And the ladies would each week spend time with me on the weekends. And we would do activities together, have dinner together. They were a bunch of sisters holding me up. I thank God that the ladies from Cascade were there for me.”
