Now, that’s one way to win an argument! The homosexual crowd simply can’t deal with the reality that “gays” can change and leave their homosexuality behind with God’s help.

Clay Crosse had a No. 1 hit single called “I Surrender All,” a beautiful wife and a voice that stood above male vocalists in the ‘90s. So why was he addicted to pornography?

Clay Crosse: My lust was out of control.

Renee Crosse: I sat there thinking he’s had an affair.

Clay: My desires were getting out of hand…

Renee: Where’s Clay right now?

Clay: Why am I so out of control?

Clay: I’ve known the Lord since I was 13 years old, and anything that went wrong was because I took my eyes off the Lord.

Clay: More times than not, that was out of focus and what was in focus was I’m becoming a star and how far will this go? How big can this get? Just getting consumed with that. Those were the changes, and I’m not sure they were so good for me. In the midst of all of it, I would sing a song, and I would realize the truth of that song that was making a difference in people’s lives -- that God was doing a work through the music. But all the while I realized, why am I such a joke?

Clay: Sex is every man’s battle, and I’m right in there with that battle. I have experienced that full on.

Question: Did your wife know?

Clay: She didn’t know everything. She knew I had a wandering eye. But she didn’t know the level of my lust and my secret desires, partially fueled by occasional pornography. It was poisoning me.

Question: Did you have porn in the house?

Clay: I did, and truthfully that’s where I saw it. I wouldn’t want it in my suitcase for fears of what if I was in an accident and somebody had to look through my belongings and found it?

Question: You actually thought this through.

Clay: Oh yes. So I didn’t see it on the road. People can’t believe that. I had it hidden in my home, and when Renee and my girls from time to time were not around, I would look at it. I would fall to that, I would justify it and just think to myself it’s really not that big a deal. But looking back I know, it was doing real damage to me.

Christian Music - J. J. Heller - Control

The song Control is based on a true story about a girl who struggled with cutting named Brittany Garcia from Broomfield, Colorado. We met her at a camp a few years ago. She was telling her story throughout the week of the camp. Several times people have told me I needed to write a song about cutting. I have always felt that would be a compelling subject for a song as it is an issue that so many people deal with.

I had never heard anyone talk about it before so I didn’t know how to write a song about what would compel someone to hurt themselves. To hear Brittany talk about it, my eyes were opened to the fact that cutting is the same as any other addiction. It is the illusion of “control” as she was feeling powerless and such a victim to things in her life that she wanted to take some steps to control her life. So, she started to hurt herself because that was something she was in charge of about herself. The more she did it, eventually cutting had power over her. Only when she submitted to Jesus was she able gain freedom from the addiction.

Saved from Addiction at Teen Challenge

Teen Challenge was established in 1958 by David Wilkerson, an Assemblies of God pastor who left a rural Pennsylvania church to work among teenage gang members and socially-marginalized people in New York City. Teen Challenge was launched from a small office on Staten Island. In 1960, the Teen Challenge headquarters was relocated to a large historical house in Brooklyn, New York. From its humble beginnings, Teen Challenge has grown through the entrepreneurial establishment of independent centers affiliated with either Teen Challenge International USA or Global Teen Challenge. They may be organized as a network of cooperating centers having one central governing board or as stand-alone, autonomous centers.

Currently Teen Challenge International USA is headquartered in Springfield, MO. They charter and grant accreditation, develop curriculum for and refer clients to Teen Challenge centers in the United States. Global Teen Challenge is headquartered in Columbus, GA. By late 2008, Teen Challenge USA had grown to include 231 locations, including residential programs and evangelical outreach centers, in the United States.

Dr. Michael Brown recounts his Jewish youth of drugs and rock music, and how he came to follow Yeshua (Jesus).

It was 1:30 in the morning, the first week of September, 1971. I was only sixteen years old, but already I had earned the nicknames “Drug Bear” and “Iron Man.” I could do greater quantities of drugs than any of my friends -- and live to brag about it! Whether I was shooting heroin or using hallucenogenics like LSD and mescaline, taking megadoses of drugs had become my lifestyle. But this time I went too far. I took enough mescaline for thirty people, and my friends put me on a bus alone, sending me home to fend for myself. They thought it was a big joke! Actually it was a matter of life and death.
I became delirious on the bus and got off too soon, more than a mile from my family’s home on Long Island, New York. As I walked slowly towards the house, I thought the journey would never end. I became disoriented and got lost just two blocks from home. I sat down on the ground in mental torment, feeling like I had entered a maze from which I could never get out. I thought I had died and gone to hell.

Then, at that late hour of the night, a friend of my parents came by, walking his dog. He looked at me with shock as I screamed, “I’m burning in hell!” I was shocked too. “Why is he walking his dog in hell?” I wondered.

As soon as he walked away, I made a decision: “I’m going to jump in front of the next car that comes by. I can’t take it any longer.” I was losing my mind.

Within minutes, a car came racing around the corner. I jumped into the road directly in front of the car and threw my hands in the air. The car came to a screeching halt just inches from my body. It was my parents! The man with the dog had gone to my house and, deeply shaken, told them what he had seen. They came looking for me. They were ready to stop at that very corner. If it had been any other car I would have been killed.

But what was I doing there anyway, stoned out of my head? How did a nice Jewish boy like me get so messed up? And why was I thinking about hell? Let me tell you the story. I think you’ll be interested to hear what happened!
